A day at Louis Academy

Here at Louis Academy, the classes are divided into 5 age groups.

  • 1 to 2 years old Bairns
  • 2 to 3 years old Squires
  • 3 to 4 years old Reeves
  • 4 to 5 years old Knights
  • 5 to 6 years old Nobles

 

The IEYC is for classes over the ages of 2 years old. All lessons are age appropriate and take children’s individual learning into consideration

Bairns to Squires Class (1 to 3 years old)

9:00 – 10:00

Arrive at school and wash hands, enjoy a morning fruit snack. The students will have free guided play until clean up time.

10:00 – 10:30

  • Theme Exploration
+Independence +Interdependence +Communication

Theme exploration, group work, songs, rhymes, books and kinaesthetic learnings. Teacher scaffolded lessons that foster practical skills and the foundations of healthy group participation

10:30 – 11:30

  • Park Time
+Healthy living +Independence +Interdependence +Communication

Park time, if it’s raining the children will enjoy indoor games and obstacle courses.

11:30 – 12:30

  • Lunch Time

Delicious organic lunch is provided by Luca Deli catering service.

Although we will not force students to eat everything all the time, we will encourage them to try and enjoy a variety of different foods, regardless of how they look. 

12:30 – 14:00

  • Nap Time

Children are looked after during nap time.

14:00 – 14:30

  • Theme exploration

Upon waking up the toddlers will have afternoon playgroup including teacher scaffolded lessons recapping the mornings theme related songs, rhymes, books, activities and kinaesthetics.

14:30 – 15:20

  • Craft making

Students will branch off into small groups and work on theme related art and craft making. Craft workstation will be open during this time

15:20 – 15:30

  • Dismissal

Children until 15:30 pack up and get ready to go home

15:30 – 16:00

  • Snack time

16:00 – 17:20

  • Play Time

The students will have free guided play until clean up time.

Reeves to Nobles Class (3 to 6 years old)

Afternoon playgroup and theme based recap with integrated phonics and linguistic activities including jolly phonics, songs, poems, rhymes and stories.

15:00 – 15:20

  • Play Time

The students will have free guided play until clean up time.

15:20 – 15:30

  • Dismissal

Children until 15:30 pack up and get ready to go home

15:30 – 16:00

  • Snack time

  • Afterschool Activities

Afterschool Activities are taught by the professional teachers of each field.
